The PTA Sponsored Enrichment Classes provide opportunities for students to explore additional interests before or after school hours – to have fun and learn!  The programs are organized by parent volunteers through the PTA, and taught by qualified instructors.  The PTA is sponsoring these classes at a reduced rate or no cost to Williams Township Elementary enrolled students.

Writing With A Purpose (Grade 3) – Fee:  No Charge

*4 week, 1 hr. class run by Williams Township 3rd Grade Teacher, Mrs. Dickson

3rd grade students will learn how to free write, connect to text, and respond to formal prompts.  The students will reflect, share, and respond to each other, creating a risk free writing environment.  At the end of these sessions, they will have confidence in their writing, because writing is easy with the right tools!

WarriorFit Performance – Cross Fit Training Program    (Grades 3 & 4)            Fee: $40.00

The Kid's Fit Program consists of: (1) Teaching and instructing Warm-Up Exercises to prevent injury, (2) Mobility and Partner Drills that improve flexibility and strength, (3) Speed and Agility Drills that improve balance, coordination and motor skills, (4) Team Relays and Challenges that teach teamwork and sportsmanship, and (5) Fitness Tests that provide a baseline for each kids development. The Kid's Fit Program is designed to: (1) Improve motor skill development, (2) Develop a stronger body structure, (3) Aid in injury prevention, (4) Increase balance and coordination, (5) Build self-confidence, (6) Promote successful habits, and (7) Have fun being physically active!  Please be sure students are wearing proper workout attire and sneakers!

Computer Lab – Minecraft® (Grades 2-4) – Fee:  $25.00

Two (2) identical sessions, six (6) weeks ea, 1 hr. class/week run by Computer Explorers www.computerexplorers.com. Given the popularity of this program, & class size limitations, we are offering two (2) sessions.  Priority will be given to those students who were waitlisted in fall.  Designate for which of the sessions you wish to enroll on the registration form, or indicate “no preference.”

Minecraft is a game that allows students to manipulate an immersive 3D world and create anything their imagination can conjure. The game has three main elements: Mining, Crafting and Creation. Students mine a wide variety of materials, from basic and plentiful dirt, wood and stone to the much rarer diamonds, iron ore and even lava. Basic materials allow them to begin creating right away.  For more complex constructions, they will need to learn to craft one material with another to make new materials, allowing them to enhance their construction ideas. The possibilities are endless!

SNAG® Golf for Beginner Golfers (Grades 1 & 2)  FEE:  $40.00

SNAG® is all about having FUN while learning the basics of golf.  It is a proven player development program designed for new learners of all ages and contains all the elements of golf but in a modified form, making it an easy and fun way to learn and play golf.  The system builds on strong fundamentals of putting, chipping, pitching and full swing to develop playing ability quickly and effectively. REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS WILL TAKE PLACE IN MARCH AS IT WILL BE HELD OUTDOORS.

HIP HOP – Dance Program (Grades 2-4) Fee:  $15.00

Does your student like to bust out some moves, but lack formal dance training?  Hip Hop started on the street, not in a dance studio.  It encourages freestyle dance and often incorporates the most current music.  Let’s get a little funky this Spring and see where your budding hip hop star can go.  No prior dance experience is required.  The class will incorporate a warm up and stretch period.  Rest assured will not allow any inappropriate music or music with explicit lyrics.  Please wear sneakers, dancers!

Fabulous!  Your student will learn the latest in hair coiffing, as well as regular tips for personal hygiene.  Whether its braids, twists, tails or curls, your student will learn the tools to maintain a fashionable and healthy appearance.

A popular program with our students in the Fall Session, we brought MAD SCIENCE BACK to offer a new line up!   Preference will be given to students waitlisted in the Fall.  The Spring Session will introduce students to weekly science concepts, such as Harnessing Heat, Light & Rainbows, Magnetic Magic, Optical Illusions, Tantalizing Taste and Watts UP.

At Williams Township Elementary School, we hope to build a foundation of service through a Student Community Service Club, named the Rams Rescuers.  Its current Board is comprised of President, Abby Sagrestano, Vice  President, Annalena Wagner, Secretary, Nicholas Ritter and Treasure, Andrew Sagrestano.  Twelve current members round out the club.  They have developed their project agenda for the Spring and are ready to launch their first food drive this month.  New members are welcome!

The yearbook club will consist of 4th grade students and volunteers.  The club will help to choose the yearbook theme, a cover design, assist with picture taking, cropping, assist with page layouts and will also choose survey questions and create a questionnaire.  This club meets in the morning only.

This program teaches the basics of theatre through hands-on showcase development.  Students will create characters, a script, music selection, props, set, etc.  This program teaches students to think outside of the box, helping them develop critical thinking, problem solving leadership and accountability.

K-Kids Community Service Club (Grades 2-4) – Fee:  NO FEE

K- Kids is a Kiwanis Club Sponsored program teaching child participants how they can make their communities and their world a safer, cleaner and happier place.  Children assume board positions and develop service projects for the benefit of their school and surrounding communities.  Examples of K-Kids service projects include creation and collections for Care Packages to Service Men and Women, Tabs for Ronald McDonald homes, food and clothing drives, etc.  This program teaches children the importance of leadership and giving back.  Registration for this program will be conducted at a later date.  Information will be distributed once the faculty advisor has been appointed.
