Reflections Program (All Grades) – Fee: No Charge

This class is intended to assist in the beginning stages of choosing a type, style and design of project for the PTA Reflections Art Contest.  The Theme of the contest for this year is “The World would be a better place, if…”  Please see the enclosed flyer or visit our website at - Reflections program tab for more information.

WarriorFit Performance – Cross Fit Training Program    (Grades 3&4)    Fee: $40.00

*6 weeks, 1 hr. class run by Ted Snow of WarriorFit Performance

The Kid's Fit Program consists of: (1) Teaching and instructing Warm-Up Exercises to prevent injury, (2) Mobility and Partner Drills that improve flexibility and strength, (3) Speed and Agility Drills that improve balance, coordination and motor skills, (4) Team Relays and Challenges that teach teamwork and sportsmanship, and (5) Fitness Tests that provide a baseline for each kids development

The Kid's Fit Program is designed to: (1) Improve motor skill development, (2) Develop a stronger body structure, (3) Aid in injury prevention, (4) Increase balance and coordination, (5) Build self-confidence, (6) Promote successful habits, and (7) Have fun being physically active.

Computer Lab – Snap Circuits (Grades 3 & 4) – Fee:  $25.00

Students will gain hands on experience with a range of projects using the Elenco Snap Circuits kits.  Students will learn about electronics and become familiar with a wide variety of electrical components, vocabulary and concepts while building a diverse assortment of electrical circuits.  They will explore short circuits, series & parallel circuits, oscillator circuits, audio circuits and many more types of circuits.  This course will culminate with the students building an AM radio receiver & transmitter.

Pottery Series –Art Program (Grades 1&2) Fee:  $45.00

Learn a new ceramic painting technique each week! Try out Bubbling, Taping, Splattering, Lace, Rubbing Alcohol, Scraffito, and more! Ceramic pieces will be chosen based on the technique of the day.

Week 1: Taping (name plaque) - Week 2: Splattering (party animal) - Week 3: Bubbling (bowl) - Week 4: Lace (plate) - Week 5: Rubbing Alcohol (mug) - Week 6: Scraffito (pencil holder)

Yearbook Club (Grade 4) – Fee: No Charge

*8 meetings (every other week), 30 min. morning class run by Mrs. Lori Miller and Mrs. Shea Bennett help to choose the yearbook theme, a cover design, assist with picture taking, cropping, assist with page layouts and will also choose survey questions and create a questionnaire.  This club meets in the morning only.

Mad Science (Grades 1 & 2) – Fee:  $45.00

Mr. C is back!  This time he intends to explore:

Bugs! Engross yourself in entomology! Inspect authentic insect specimens. Update your insect anatomy know-how. Match-up insects with their habitats. Get bug-eyed with the Insect-A-Vision kit.

Detective Science. Help crack a case. Inspect fingerprints, mystery powders, ink samples, and teeth impressions. Create a composite from memory. Use the Personal Profile to build an identity kit.

Earthworks. Dig into Earth Science! Uncover rock samples and discover how they formed. Inspect fluorescing minerals. Model the moving plates that cause bends and breaks. See how sediment stacks with the Experi-tube.

Matter of Fact. Investigate the ingredients of the universe! Build your own marshmallow molecules! Play Alchemist by turning a nickel into gold (well, almost)…and use our secret formula to make your own Mad Science Putty!

Science of Toys. What makes toys work? Move out of the way for motorized toys. Take a spin with kinetic tops. Balance a bird to reveal its center of gravity. A twist of the wrist sets your Yo-yo spinning!

Walloping Weather. Get weather-wise. Uncover the reason for seasons. Create three-day weather forecasts. Stage a statically-charged indoor storm. Spot the sun’s invisible UV rays with the Sun Beads kit.

Poetry in Motion (Grades 3 & 4) – Fee:  No Charge

*4 weeks, 1 hour per week taught by Mrs. Dickson

Have a creative side that you'd like time to express through poetry?  Join us as we use various styles of poetry to create our own collection of poems.  We'll share examples of poems and then dabble with Diamante, Acrostic, Cinquain, Haiku, and others.  Collections may be turned into Power Points or Books as time allows.

Rams Rescuers (Service Club) (Grades 2-4) – Fee:  NO FEE

This program is advised by Mrs. Weidner and Mrs. Lombardo and it teaches child participants how they can make their communities and their world a safer, cleaner and happier place.  Children assume board positions and develop service projects for the benefit of their school and surrounding communities.  Examples of service projects include creation and collections families in need of food and clothing, visits with the elderly and collections to benefit pets.  This program teaches children the importance of leadership and giving back.  This program will meet in the mornings.
